Expectant mothers can determine the sex of their babies by undergoing an ultrasound test. Most pregnant women use this method as it gives a more accurate result. In addition, specialists, such as sonographers, radiologists, and obstetricians, perform the test making it safer compared to other baby gender test options.

Ultrasounds for baby gender are a common medical practice that makes use of an ultrasound in order to produce images of tissues, organs, blood flow and the fetus inside the womb. This test does not require any special requirements. Usually, expectant moms are advised to follow their normal diet and continually take their medications, unless the doctor advises otherwise. However, expecting moms should also be aware of flaws of ultrasounds.

Accuracy of an Ultrasound

In the early months of pregnancy, an ultrasound may not give an accurate and reliable result. The FDA does not recommend this test to determine the baby’s gender. Couples have to wait for 16 – 24 weeks before a reliable reading of the baby’s gender can be made. It would be better if an expectant mother could try other methods such as a blood baby gender testing kit.

Process of blood testing for gender

Blood gender testing is another common method to determine the sex of the baby. With this method, there is 99% accuracy rate from which a woman can determine the sex of her baby after 9 weeks of her last period. If the mother’s blood has Y chromosomes then there is a big chance the baby is a boy and if there is none then the baby would probably be a girl.
